Rebrandly built its name on branded links: your domain, your name after the slash, your brand on every shared link. It is a good product. It is also an increasingly expensive habit. If your monthly bill feels too heavy for what is, at heart, link shortening and tracking, this guide lays out a cheaper alternative — and is honest about where it does not measure up.
What Rebrandly charges in 2026
The prices below were checked on Rebrandly's own pricing page on 2026-10-24. Rebrandly sells five tiers, priced per month:
- Free: $0 — 10 links per month, 10 QR codes per month, one custom domain plus one free Rebrand.ly domain, custom back-halves, one link gallery (with a Rebrandly watermark), and unlimited clicks and scans.
- Essentials: $11/month when billed monthly, or $8/month when billed annually — 250 links and 250 QR codes per month, 2 custom domains, 10 destination edits per month, 3 link galleries, and basic audience data.
- Professional: $32/month billed monthly, or $22/month billed annually — 1,500 links and QR codes per month, 3 custom domains, 50 destination edits and 50 password-protected links per month, link expiration, dynamic traffic routing, and conversion tracking.
- Growth: $149/month billed monthly, or $104/month billed annually — 3,500 links and QR codes per month, 10 custom domains, and team workspaces.
- Enterprise: custom pricing for security, compliance, and dedicated support.
Two things stand out. First, the free plan is genuinely small: ten links a month runs out fast if you share daily. Second, features many small teams consider basic — password-protected links, link expiration, changing a link's destination — only appear once you are paying at least the Professional tier, $22 to $32 a month.
Where Rebrandly's free plan falls short
If you are shopping for an alternative, you are probably on the free plan or eyeing Essentials. Here is what the free tier does not give you, straight from Rebrandly's comparison table:
- Only 10 links a month. Create your eleventh link in a month and you are blocked until the next cycle or until you pay.
- No password-protected links. Every link you share is public. Privacy-sensitive shares require the Professional plan.
- No destination edits. Type the wrong destination URL and you cannot fix the link — you have to create a new one and re-share it everywhere.
- Watermarked QR codes and link gallery. The QR codes and the one link-in-bio page you get on the free plan carry Rebrandly branding.
- Analytics with a short leash. Detailed engagement data on the free plan is capped at 100 events a month, with no unique-vs-repeat click tracking until you upgrade.
None of this is hidden — Rebrandly is upfront about every limit. But it explains the bill shock many users report: the free plan works as a trial in practice, and the cheapest plan that feels complete starts at $22 a month billed annually.
Urlzbit vs Rebrandly: the honest head-to-head
Urlzbit is a simpler link shortener with click analytics and QR codes built in. It does not try to be a marketing platform. Here is how the two compare, feature by feature — Rebrandly's numbers from the pricing page checked today, Urlzbit's from its own plan pages:
- Free link allowance: Rebrandly gives you 10 links a month. Urlzbit's free plan lets you keep 100 saved links, with 10,000 clicks per calendar month. If you share links regularly, this is the single biggest practical difference between the two free plans.
- Custom link endings: Both let you choose the text after the slash for free. Rebrandly calls them back-halves; Urlzbit calls them custom endings. No advantage either way.
- Password protection: Free on Urlzbit — lock any link with a password in about a minute. On Rebrandly you need the Professional plan ($22 to $32 a month). Guide: How to password-protect a link on Urlzbit's free plan.
- QR codes: Rebrandly's free plan includes 10 QR codes a month with a watermark. Urlzbit generates a QR code for every link on the free plan, and you can change where a printed QR code points later without reprinting — explained here: changing a QR code destination after printing.
- Editing a link's destination: Rebrandly's free plan gives you zero destination edits a month; Essentials gives you 10. On Urlzbit you can update a link's destination whenever you need to.
- Paid entry price: Urlzbit Pro costs $9 for 30 days — 5,000 links, unlimited clicks, a developer API, bulk shortening, and country, device, and language routing. Rebrandly Essentials starts at $11 a month on monthly billing. One honest caveat: if you are happy paying annually, Rebrandly Essentials drops to $8 a month, which undercuts Urlzbit Pro. Urlzbit does not offer annual plans or auto-renewal — you buy 30-day terms as you need them.
- Bulk link creation: Urlzbit Pro includes bulk paste (up to 20 URLs at once) and CSV import (up to 100 rows). On Rebrandly, bulk link creation and import are gated to the upper tiers — the free and Essentials plans do not include them.
- Analytics depth: Rebrandly's paid plans add city-level and country-level audience data, conversion tracking, and unique-click identification. Urlzbit keeps analytics simpler: click and scan counts with the breakdowns a small team actually reads, included on the free plan within the 10,000-click monthly allowance.
- Developer API: Urlzbit's API is available on Pro and Business plans ($9 for 30 days and up), so developers can create and manage links programmatically without an enterprise contract.
- Branded domains: This is where Rebrandly wins outright. Even the free plan includes a custom domain slot plus a free Rebrand.ly domain, and paid plans scale to 10 custom domains. Urlzbit offers personal redirect branding, but there is no documented bring-your-own custom domain option. If every link must carry your own domain, Rebrandly is the better fit — no contest.
- Link galleries and link-in-bio pages: Rebrandly includes link galleries (one on free, more on paid plans). Urlzbit does not offer link-in-bio pages. If that format matters to you, stay with Rebrandly.
- Enterprise features: Rebrandly's higher tiers add team workspaces, role permissions, SSO, SOC 2 and HIPAA compliance, and dedicated support. Urlzbit is built for individuals and small teams and does not compete there.
The pattern is simple: Rebrandly charges for breadth and brand infrastructure. Urlzbit charges less by staying narrow — shortening, tracking, QR codes, and password protection done well, without the platform overhead.
Who should switch — and who should not
Switch to Urlzbit if you:
- share more than a handful of links a month and keep hitting Rebrandly's 10-link free cap
- want password-protected links without paying $22 a month or more
- need QR codes for print materials and want to change their destinations later without reprinting
- prefer buying short 30-day terms with no auto-renewal over an annual contract
- are a solo marketer, freelancer, or small team that does not need branded domains
Stay with Rebrandly if you:
- need your own custom domain on every link — this alone settles it
- rely on link galleries or link-in-bio pages
- need team workspaces, role permissions, or compliance certifications
- run SMS campaigns or retargeting pixels through your link platform
- are already on a paid Rebrandly plan and your workflows depend on its integrations
Neither answer is wrong. The expensive mistake is paying for a platform when all you actually use is the shortener.
How to switch without breaking your links
If you decide to move, do not cancel Rebrandly on day one. A clean switch takes about a month:
- Audit first. Before touching anything, note which of your Rebrandly links still get clicks. Most accounts have a long tail of dead links that do not need migrating at all.
- Recreate the active ones. Build your working links on Urlzbit with matching custom endings, so anything you re-share looks familiar. Start here: create, share and track a short link in about a minute.
- Bridge printed materials. A QR code printed with a Rebrandly link cannot be moved to another platform without reprinting — but you can point its Rebrandly destination at a new Urlzbit link as a temporary bridge while you reprint. Keep the old account active until the reprints are done.
- Run both in parallel for a month. Compare the analytics side by side. If Urlzbit's reporting answers your questions, you have your answer — then downgrade or close the Rebrandly account.
One caution: check whether your Rebrandly plan lets you export your link list before you leave. Export features on many platforms sit behind higher tiers, and you do not want to discover that on cancellation day.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a cheaper alternative to Rebrandly?
Yes. If your main needs are shortening, custom endings, QR codes, click analytics, and password protection, Urlzbit's free plan covers them at no cost, and Pro costs $9 for 30 days — less than Rebrandly's cheapest paid tier on monthly billing ($11 a month for Essentials). Check current prices on both sites before you decide; this article's Rebrandly figures were verified on Rebrandly's pricing page on 2026-10-24.
How much does Rebrandly cost in 2026?
As of 2026-10-24: free ($0), Essentials $11 a month billed monthly or $8 a month billed annually, Professional $32 a month billed monthly or $22 a month billed annually, Growth $149 a month billed monthly or $104 a month billed annually, and custom Enterprise pricing.
Can I use my own domain with Urlzbit?
Not in the way Rebrandly allows. Urlzbit offers personal redirect branding, but there is no documented bring-your-own custom domain option. If branded domains are a requirement, Rebrandly remains the stronger choice.
Is Urlzbit really free?
The free plan includes 100 saved links, 10,000 clicks per calendar month, custom endings, password protection, a QR code per link, and link scheduling — no credit card required. Paid tiers (Pro $9 for 30 days, Business $29 for 30 days, Lifetime Pro $149 one-time) add volume, routing, bulk tools, and the developer API. Nothing auto-renews; you buy terms as you need them. See the full breakdown on the pricing page.
I only need a few links a month. Is switching worth it?
If Rebrandly's 10 free links a month are enough for you and you use your own domain on your links, there is no reason to switch — you are not the person overpaying. Switching pays off when the free cap, the watermarked QR codes, or the missing password protection start costing you time or money.
The bottom line
Rebrandly is the right tool when branded domains, link galleries, and enterprise controls are part of the job. But if you are paying $22 a month or more just to shorten links, protect a few with passwords, and track clicks, you are buying a platform for a shortener's workload. Try the free plan first and compare it against the bill you are paying today — then decide. If you are choosing between the two giants instead, our Bitly vs Rebrandly comparison covers that decision in detail.
